P E R F O R M A T I V E  C U R A T I O N

Assistant curator of The Asylum Art Gallery, Wolverhampton, my approach is on how the individual piece reflects the whole.
Curating both contemporary art spaces, historical buildings and devising and staging for public spaces, an understanding of ~interpretation ~ exhibition display ~ discursivity is my key.

With a priority to engage local communities in regeneration through exploration of current and local interests and grievances politically within the framework of the social model of disability. It is the worlds social structure that makes us disabled.

Free access to space that provides catharsis through acknowledgment.
The aim of the performative approach to curating — that reflects on the working methodology of relational aesthetics — is to actively structure and mediate the relationship between art and its audience, as well as to reconfigure the relation between the curator and the artist.
