Presence

An annual Silent Walk through Wolverhampton city centre by women dressed in white, wearing purple sashes and giving out cards with the quote ‘deeds not words’. We stop at historically profound locations in the city, forming lines holding hands. There are photography exhibitions afterwards showing portraits of the participants with statements of who they walked for, providing a safe space for women to engage with each other through a collective experience, stand together in silence for ourselves and each other, then present to the local areas and engage communities in talking about taking action for the representation of women.
