Based on the research of RD Laing and Lacan , Emily + Hannah entered Soup Pt IV residency exploring a co dependently formed ego and the personal requirements they have of each other.
They experimented with the use of space against this relationship and along with the introduction of public interaction, how this shapes their need and response. Removing language as a form of communication , Emily + Hannah relied on the tether that binded them all night to explore the overlapping spaces of the diagram in relation to each other and the public.
This then developed into the space concentrating on the desire to explore and personify imagined personal space and a need for separation that is not achievable. Though attached through ties developed through dependent friendship over time, both approach the need and neurosis within isolation opposingly.
