Experience
Born and bred in the BlackCountry.
As a producer I’m currently working as Contemporary Arts Producer at Compton Verney responsible for interventions between house and grounds which provide opportunities for alternative narratives and histories, and offer different points of engagement.
I’m also one of the directors of an independent arts organisation in Wolverhampton, that prioritises inclusion through artist led programs. These are undertaken in spaces renovated by us in the city centre to provide opportunities for underprivileged groups to access space to create, seek mentoring, develop their portfolios and collaborate on city wide projects. As Director at 'The Asylum Art Gallery' LTD and Asylum Artist Quarter CIC, I have facilitated artists for three years to develop their work into a collection for the exhibition space, including personal portfolio development , statements, marketing and promotion and supporting the deliverance of their event.
I regularly seek out creatives, or respond to those in my local community, developing a program that acknowledges its locality and provides opportunity for engagement and reflection.
I have a degree in Theatre, a masters in Contemporary Art Practice: Performance and four years’ experience producing events for The Asylum Art Gallery LTD.
I also co-founded a Live Art collective called Disorder Live Art. The main goal of our collective is the creation of an open, itinerant network to offer art practitioners a sustainable model to develop their practice, and reach a wide, diverse audience in different social and institutional contexts.
I believe that it is only by working with your local communities to provide bottom up developed programs in open access space, that you can truly create positive and sustainable change for regions. I'm always happy to discuss collaborations or consultancy with other groups that hold these values.
